Firstly I would say that ending the war in the gulf states would be of paramount importance.

Removing taxes is not going to help long term, however a freeze on taxes would, and as you quite rightly say regulating the price would help.

Drilling in Alaska, why not, there is plenty of oil there and it would reduce dependence on oil from the mid east.

Truckers going on strike? strikes have never solved anything.

Using more fuel efficient engines is the way forward, the more miles that you can do to the gallon the more economical it becomes to drive.

I don’t know that we can get gas prices lowered now. Bush and his cronies have done too much damage with it. However, I think the American people should be more open to driving more conservative cars–ones that don’t use as much fuel or don’t use that type of fuel at all.
